Your guide will welcome you at the airport. From there you will drive through the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose, on the way to Turrialba. You will start to experience the “Pura Vida” life, as you see the sites of San Jose, the volcanoes looming in the distance, small towns and the people smiling at you. After arriving in Turrialba, you will have a quiet dinner at the hotel and time to unwind before starting your new adventure the next day.

We will visit the tallest volcano in Costa Rica, a whopping 11,365 feet. On a clear day it is even possible to see the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean on opposite sides of the country. The most amazing thing about this volcano is that there is a lagoon in the main crater that almost magically changes color according to the water level!!!

After visiting the volcano, your bike will be waiting for you. You have the option of doing a flat easy ride, a rolling intermediate ride, or a high climbing more advanced ride. All rides will end at the Pejibaye River, where dinner will be at a restaurant with stunning views overlooking the town.

Rafting on the Pacuare River is almost mandatory as it is one of the top ten most beautiful rivers in the world.

There are Class II, III and IV rapids, exuberant rain forests teeming with wildlife and breathtaking waterfalls. This trip is 17 miles of pure adventure!!

Today you will experience the most active volcano in Costa Rica while gliding through the forest on zip lines. The canopy ride takes you around the base of the Arenal Volcano on 11 cables, the longest of which is over a ½ mile long and over 300 feet high.

The best place to admire the wildlife in Costa Rica is at the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. As you float down the river you will come face-to-face literally with different species of monkeys, iguanas, caimans, exotic birds, turtles, and many more. Later on in the day we will visit the Arenal Volcano National Park and dinner will be at the Volcano Observatory. The view of the lava spewing at night is a unique experience.

The destination today will be the Pacific Coast, specifically Junquillal Beach. During the drive, the tropical rain forest will give way to dry forests. Once at our beachfront hotel, we will invite you to relax and take a walk on the white sandy beach. Junquillal is a very small town with an incredible story about joining the efforts of the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and the community in protecting the endangered leatherback turtle. After dinner we will help in this effort by helping to release baby leatherbacks turtles.

Costa Rica has over 1,100 miles of beaches, and the waves are some of the best in the world. Avellanas Beach, where we will spend the day surfing, is without a doubt a great place to practice this sport whether you are a novice or an expert.
